La Gestion des Entreprises Sociales et Solidaires (GESS)

The 4th International Research Days on Management of Social and Solidarity-based Enterprises (Gestion des Entreprises Sociales et Solidaires, or GESS) took place in the University of Maine, Le Mans (France), on December 4-5, 2016.

The International Research Days on Management of Social and Solidarity-based Enterprises were launched in 2013 by three French universities (Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée, Le Mans and Blaise Pascal Clermont-Ferrand). These meetings primarily aim to present research work in management focusing on social and solidarity economy enterprises. The fourth edition of the event brought together about 100 participants.

Several ICSEM Research Partners, the two Scientific Coordinators and several SOCENT researchers took part in the event, be it as part of the Scientific Committee or as presenters: Eric Bidet (ICSEM France/South Korea), Emmanuel Bioteau (ICSEM France), Marie Bouchard (ICSEM Canada), Simon Cornée (SOCENT), Jacques Defourny (Scientific Coordinator), Pascal Glémain (ICSEM France), Marthe Nyssens (Scientific Coordinator), Francesca Petrella (ICSEM France), Nadine Richez-Battesti (ICSEM France) and Ariane Szafarz (SOCENT).

The opening plenary was an ICSEM session, introduced by Jacques Defourny and including presentations about South America (Marthe Nyssens), South Korea/Asia (Eric Bidet) and France/Europe (Nadine Richez-Battesti).
