Interested in joining the SOCENT programme?

Interested researchers working on themes related to the IAP-SOCENT programme were most welcome to get involved. International collaborations were particularly encouraged.

There were three main ways in which interested researchers could get involved in the IAP-SOCENT research dynamics:

  • The first way was to attend the 4th EMES International Research Conference on Social Enterprise, "If Not for Profit, for What? And How?", which took place in Liege (Belgium) on July 1-4, 2013. Several panel sessions were organized on the various IAP-SOCENT thematic lines, so it was a great opportunity to know much better which precise projects are under way and to meet already involved researchers.
  • A second way to get involved was by joining the ICSEM project; this project (which is still underway) analyses models of social enterprises and their institutionalisation processes. The goal is to draw up an inventory of social enterprise models at the international level. Any interested researcher can join this international dynamics by drawing up an inventory of models and categories of social enterprises in his/her own country/region. The ultimate goal is to carry out a comparative analysis of the various models and of the way in which they emerged institutionally. ICSEM's kick-off meeting took place on July 5, 2013, just after the 4th EMES International Research Conference on Social Enterprise.
  • The third way in which to become involved in the IAP-SOCENT programme was on a more "tailor-made" basis. Any researcher particularly interested in one of the themes or sub-themes of the project and who wanted to propose any form of collaboration with the IAP-SOCENT researchers working on this theme was invated to contact the researchers in charge of the concerned theme/sub-theme, explaining what his/her research themes were. The names of the coordinators of the various Thematic Lines (TLs) and sub-themes can be found on the respective webpages of each TL, which can be accessed through this page.
