Who we are
Jacques Defourny, coordinator of the SOCENT programme, is professor at the Department of Economics, HEC – University of Liège where he teaches non-profit and cooperative economics as well as comparative economic systems. He has been the director of the Centre for Social Economy since 1992. He also launched and chaired (2002-2010) the EMES European Research Network, which gathers 13 university research centres working on social enterprise and the third sector across Europe. His current works focus on comparative analysis of social enterprise models in Europe, the US and Eastern Asia.
